The municipality is the southernmost municipality in Hedmark county. Sweden and EU are eastern neighbors. Often the municipality is advertised as “a municipally in the middle of Scandinavia”. It is a short distances to Kongsvinger, Oslo, Gardermoen, Karlstad and Gothenburg. There are good communication capabilities yet it is close to the “quiet lakes and deep forests.
